Buying art for your home is one that should be enjoyable and never ending. Ideally, you should really relate emotionally to the artist’s vision and it should be an easy compliment of your own sense of style. Online you will find a wide selection of artwork in many different mediums and produced by famous artists at bargain prices. Get a feel for what you like and what compliments your home.

There is not one right answer for what style to go with. Art is by its very nature, subjective to the beholder. Ask yourself what you lean to the most, whether it is classical, contemporary, graphic, seascapes, or landscapes. Also, you don’t need to have the same theme in every room of the house or even in one room. You can make walls of a particular theme. Just work on the feeling and ambience that you are looking for. How you display your art is as important as the art itself. Here are a few interesting ways to frame a piece of art:

Shadow box: The depth really gives the artwork importance and can highlight a very small piece by making it look larger. This is a very popular medium and is used a lot to display awards for retiring military officers for example.

Un-mitered corners: In this case the frame is built as one piece as opposed to assembled from 4 separate pieces and gives a sense of elegance with its rounded edges.

Linen matt: This is a more formal presentation which gives a canvas a very traditional look. It works very well for oil paintings.

A gold filet between the picture and the matt highlights the picture and gives it added emphasis. It also ties in well with a gold frame.

Matting with multiple layers and bevels: This provides wonderful dimension to a piece of art and gives a very romantic look – especially to black and white photography.

No frame at all: A popular look is to leave the board or canvas unframed. The look is casual and eclectic, allowing the texture of the painting to stand out.

Finally, don’t just limit the choices for artwork to paint on canvas; there are many interesting mediums available such as silk and wood that adds intrigue and uniqueness to a space as well as many three dimensional wall sculptures that can add character and depth.

The whole thing needs to be perfect on your wedding day. It has to be a sunny day, the birds must be singing, your makeup has to be just so and your hair dare not be out of place. You have picked out the perfect wedding dress, now all you have to do is find the perfect wedding shoes. Should be easy enough, right?

You may not realize how much time you will be spending on your feet on your wedding day. There is, of course, the walk down the aisle. The receiving line in which you must stand to thank guests for attending your wedding will require more standing time than planned. Walking in to the reception hall, cutting the cake and dancing all night long.

You may fall in love with the beautiful high heel shoe, but keep comfort in mind. During the long day, you will be standing, dancing and walking and you won’t want to be in pain. If you are concerned that you will not be able to get into shoes that are stylish and elegant as well as comfortable, fear not, there are getting to be a lot more options in wide width styles.

Make sure you have your wedding shoes on while you are getting fitted for your dress. Wearing 3″ heels to fittings only to change your mind and go with a pump will affect how the dress fits overall. Try wearing your shoes for a full day, doing normal activities that will undoubtedly include walking through the store, dancing while cleaning and standing in line. Get a feel for the shoe and break them in a bit. You will not want a stiff shoe when you are trying to smile and be pretty.

There are plenty of wedding shoes options available – pumps, heels, stiletto heels and even flats or sandals that will be good for a more informal event.

Fabric is a factor that will go into deciding what wedding footwear you will be happy with. Traditionally, wedding shoes are made of silk or satin. Often, shoe fabrics are matched to the dress. Dresses made from satin or other shiny fabrics, as a rule of thumb, will require satin shoes. If you go with a matte dress fabric such as chiffon or crepe, the shoes should match, being made from crepe as well.

If you go with a non-traditional wedding dress or a more informal affair, make sure your shoes are in sync with this. Don’t, for example, wear overalls to your wedding and then attempt to add some tradition with 3-inch silk shoes. Make your wedding what you want it to be, but make sure your wedding shoes match. Having a western-themed wedding? How about a pair of brocaded wedding boots? There are plenty of options when it comes to wedding shoes.

Your personality should come through in your wedding shoes. Don’t be afraid to spice it up a bit. Maybe you let your niece decorate them or maybe you add your own embellishments. You can get see through shoes that will remind your guests of Cinderella. This is your day and it should be what you make of it.

Therefore your wedding day is probably one you have been planning your whole life. You want everything to be perfect. Make sure you pick out wedding shoes that are comfortable and reflect your personality both as a bride and as a person. The possibilities are almost endless.

Nearly all of us have so many fragrances these days that we tend to get bored and tired of them very easily. We want to get rid of them, but don’t know how we can do that, as we feel bad chucking it in the bin or just disposing of it. However, there are many ways in which one can utilize their old boring perfumes, instead of wasting them.

The most common way to utilize your old perfume is by using it as a room freshener. You can either spray it all over the room, or add a few drops of perfume in boiling water over the stove. The steam of the perfumed water will infiltrate all over, thus spreading the fragrance all over the house. You can use as much as perfume as you like, depending on your choice. If you do not want a light room freshener, then be sure only to use a few drops.

Potpourri is a very popular feng shui and decorative item, used in most houses today. But the fragrance of the potpourri doesn’t last for a very long time, so you can use to your old unwanted perfumes, to revive the potpourri. The wooden leaves absorb oils and liquids very easily, making it easy for you to pour a few drops of perfume and revive the smell.

Writing notes or sending handwritten letters has nearly become extinct these days, thanks to technology. However, you can revive the tradition in your own unique way. You can spray some of your old fragrances all over the stationary, or note pads, and write small notes or letters and send them out. These will give a very good impression of you and everyone will know it is a note from you as soon as they smell the fragrance. You can also use the perfume on other stationary items like your pens and pencils to enhance the pleasure of writing.

Another unique and excellent way of using your old worn out perfume is by pouring a few drops into your bath water. This can help make your bath more pleasurable and will invigorate you completely. Using perfume in your bath can be very cost effective, as you do not spend money on buying expensive aroma or bath oils. By using the old perfume, you can enjoy the memories attached with it, making your bath more enjoyable. If you like a strong fragranced bath, you have the choice of adding as much perfume as you like.

Most of the time, we do not like parting with things, which have special memories or sentiments, attached to it. Women especially do not like discarding their favorite perfume even it has become very old and stale. Now you have many ways in which you could use your favorite perfume, instead of discarding it.

Is your bathroom looking dingy, but still functional so you feel like you should just bear with it until something really goes wrong? Paint peeling perhaps, or broken fixtures, water damage or maybe stained flooring. It’s okay to remodel your bathroom simply for aesthetic reasons. An old worn, but still function pair of shoes might be so comfy you can’t give it up. It has a certain value as long as you don’t wear them to a business meeting. But a bathroom? Nah! Let your imagine go wild, pull in a professional-recommended by someone you know preferably. Absent that hire a firm that has a Diamond Certified rating, and you most likely will be satisfied).

What would you like? Larger bathrooms are very popular now. If you can afford it, and if there’s room for it, why not expand a few feet. Years ago many bathrooms were built with barely enough room to turn around. But that’s not what today’s busy people want now. Think sanctuary.

Maybe you’ve got just a small window too. Why not enlarge the window along with the room, and add more lighting, and more variety in the lighting. If you’re settling in for a bath (in your new sunken tub, instance) you might want dim, relaxing light. But if you’re shaving, well you know you need something brighter. It’s your room, so go ahead and enlarge your options along with the size of the room.

Are your cabinets worth keeping? If they are, simply refinishing them in a lighter color will give them new life. And if you top them with custom-cut marble, you’re going to smile every time you walk into the room. So will your guests.

Another thing you can do to transform your bathroom is install radiant heat, the kind that radiates up from the floor. It’ll cost you to install, certainly, but once you’ve gotten past that initial hurdle, it’s very efficient and will save you money. Imagine being able to walk around barefoot on your warm bathroom floor. And, if the floor’s warm, that means the rest of the room is too.

Doesn’t this make you want to get started on your bathroom remodel right away? Before you begin though, do some window shopping at home improvement store displays. Take note of what you like and what you don’t like. Read through several home improvement magazines for inspiration. Then, when you start interviewing prospective contractors you’ll know some of the terminology and be able to give guidance to the pros you hire right from the beginning.

Most likely we all know that stress is a killer, especially in those situations when the deadlines are nearing and we find we still haven’t completed the task at hand. Whatever the reason it appears for, stress diminishes productivity, while also taking a toll on our health. This is why experts recommend a few simple guidelines that we have to bear in mind when dealing with it.

Eat breakfast, research shows that skipping breakfast may cause you to eat more later in the day. If you’re famished by the time lunch rolls around, you’re likely to overindulge, which isn’t just detrimental to your diet, but your stress levels as well. Putting too much glucose (blood sugar) in your system at one time adds stress to your body. Plus, any glucose that isn’t used is stored as fat and carrying around extra pounds is a strain. By eating breakfast every day, you stay healthy, but also in top shape.

Stretch it out, even if you’re stuck in an epic meeting or tied to the phone with constant conference calls, you can still move your body. Hunching over a computer all day can take its toll, so do some stretches to release muscle tension. Reach forward to stretch your upper back and shoulder. To relieve tension from your neck, lift each ear away from the shoulders. Cross one foot over the opposite knee and lean forward slightly to stretch your hip and butt muscles.

Obviously, it’s not just stretching that is highly recommended, as any type of movement is encouraged. For instance, if you have something to tell a colleague from a different department, forget the email and just walk to where he or she is working to tell it in person. Don’t take the elevator to your floor, take the stairs, use your lunch break to include a walk as well, and so on and so forth. Of course, while we’re on the topic of things to change, we should also reduce caffeine and nicotine intake to reduce stress.

Maybe you are the proud new owner of a hot tub and may find yourself a bit shocked at all the different accessories that are available now for your hot tub. There are a variety of accessories that are really necessary, such as filters, safety rails, chemicals, ladders, and covers. Some of the other hot tub accessories that are available include floating bars, trays, colored lights, tables, and even fragrances. While they may seem like luxuries to you, you will love them if you give them a try.

If you have a hot tub, having chemicals for the hot tub is important. There are a variety of chemicals that you will need to use, including balancers, water clarifiers, shock treatments, sanitizers, scale controllers, and more. It may be a bit confusing for you in the beginning when it comes to caring for and cleaning your new hot tub. If you are a bit confused, consider buying a kit that has all the chemicals in it that you will need. Not only will they come with all the right chemicals, but they’ll also have the instructions for using them as well, so you’ll be able to keep your hot tub in great shape.

For those who want to add some class to their hot tub, there are many different types of lighting that are used for decoration for the hot tub. They will provide you with light while you are enjoying the tub and they’ll make it look more beautiful as well. You can find fiber optic and digital lights for any hot tub.

If you decide to go with the digital lights for your hot tub they’ll actually display around 10 different colors for you. You can simply lock them into displaying one color or you can have them rotate through the cycle of all the colors. You can synchronize multiple lights to create a light show that is absolutely spectacular.

More than likely you won’t really want to have to clean your hot tub by hand. Purchasing a vacuum for your hot tub is a great idea, since it will actually do most of the cleaning for you. Not only will it be easier for you, but it will also save you a huge amount of time. Vacuums for your hot tub are usually quite affordable and almost anyone can easily use them. Once you have one you’ll wonder how you ever made it without one.

A spa duck is another great addition to your time in the hot tub. These ducks are cute little ducks that are rubber and they come in various different styles. You can put them on your bottles of hot tub chemicals and they will dispense the chemicals for you automatically.

While you may not really need to have a cover lifter, it will definitely make it easier for you to get the cover off of the hot tub. Most of them don’t really require that you have much space, even if your hot tub happens to be right near a wall. They can prevent wear and tear on the cover for your hot tub so it will last longer.

Some cover lifters actually have a special hydraulic system and they help to assist the lifting of the cover. Some of them have mechanisms that are non-electric instead to complete the task.

Environmental exposure is the most common cause of dry skin. For instance, winter is the time when most people experience “winter itch,” which is characterized by flaky dry skin. The temperature and humidity levels drop sharply during winter, and the cold and the wind can leave your skin chapped and sore by sapping its moisture and natural oils. On the other hand, this is also true if you live in the desert climates, where humidity levels plummet as the temperature rises.

Pollution is also an environmental cause of dry skin. A 1997 Berkeley study showed that exposure to ozone concentrations drained the skin’s supply of Vitamin E by 25% in as little as two hours. People are more prone to this risk in cities with high ozone densities, such as Los Angeles and Mexico City. Smoke and dust also absorb the moisture in the skin, leaving it parched.

Even climate-controlled environments can play a part in drying your skin. Modern-day mechanical wonders, such as centralized heating and air-conditioning, can actually cause humidity levels to drop inside the living space and cause dry skin. Forced-air furnaces and fireplaces also contribute to dry skin. Devices such as household humidifiers can help prevent this.

While it’s common knowledge that the sun (like all types of heat) dries the skin, it should also be worth noting that ultraviolet (UV) radiation damages the dermis, deep beneath the top layer of the skin. Collagen and elastin fibers break down more quickly than normal when this happens, paving the way for wrinkles and sagging skin. While sun-exposed skin only looks like ordinary dry skin, the damage done is actually much worse than it initially appears. Sunscreen should be used daily to avoid this.

Indian spices enhance and add to the flavors of cauliflower and potatoes; chili peppers add a mouth-watering kick to this dish. Potatoes are an excellent source of fiber, carbohydrates, vitamin C and iron; cauliflower contains these nutrients, too. For best results, use potatoes that are not wrinkled, soft or green. The cauliflower you use should be white or slightly off-white in color and without dark spots.

Fill two large bowls with cold salted water. Put the heads of cauliflower in them, and let the cauliflower remain in the water 30 minutes to remove any dirt. After 30 minutes, rinse the cauliflower off and dry with paper towels. Place the cauliflower on a cutting board and cut off 1/2-inch pieces of cauliflower florets. Set the cauliflower florets aside.

Peel the skin off of the potatoes and cut the potatoes into 1/2-inch pieces. Put the diced potatoes in a large bowl filled with cold water. Set the bowl aside.

Mix the turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, chili powder, grated ginger and 1/2 cup of water together in a small bowl and set the bowl aside.

Heat the canola oil in a large pan. When the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds, lower the heat and cook the seeds for about two to three minutes.

Add the small bowl of ingredients to the pan and stir the contents. Let the pan of ingredients simmer for about three minutes.

Add two cups of water to the pan, and raise the heat to a medium to high temperature.

Drain the potatoes in a colander and add them to the pan after blotting them dry with paper towels. Stir the ingredients, cover the pan and cook everything for 10 minutes.

Add the cauliflower to the pan after 10 minutes and stir to mix. Cook the ingredients for another 15 minutes.

Chop the tomato, garlic clove and chili pepper while the potatoes and cauliflower are cooking.

Put the tomato, garlic and chili pepper in the pan after 15 minutes, stir and cook for another five minutes.

Add the cilantro when the potatoes and cauliflower are done, cover the pan and let the flavors blend for five minutes before serving this dish.

It is difficult to get a straight answer by asking your friends. Those who have gas will swear that their method is the new and improved version, with less mess, less fuss and more exact cooking. Those who have charcoal (or alternate solid fuel such as heat beats) barbecues will scoff in the face of those who don’t and question what the point of a barbecue is without the taste of the smoke on the food (and the fun of the fire). So what do you choose if you are buying your first Barbecue?

If you prefer the idea of the outdoors experience, the thrill of the fire or the macho sport of making a fire and then cooking over it, solid fuel based may be the way for you. It does require more attention – if you don’t catch it when its right, your perfectly grilled pork chop, could end up looking like a burnt chop.

If, however, you prefer the idea of simple and less stressful cooking with more predictable results, go for gas. The grill is ready when you are – you just turn the nob. You don’t have to light the fire and there are no ashes to chuck out afterward.

Interestingly, there is not much else to choose between in terms of the gas versus charcoal issue. Tests done on the cooked results of both barbecue types have revealed that there is no significant difference in the flavors of food cooked on gas or solid fuel based barbecues. This is mostly true for hamburgers or chicken. Items such as a roast, however, which require longer cooking time, thus allowing more time for the smoke to penetrate the food, have been said to taste better on the on solid fuel based grill.

The majority of barbecue owners own a gas grill and love it. They have more features than you would ever use. This can be a negative selling point as well. Solid fuel based grills are cheaper, although they are being developed with more and more features. Charcoal grill owners find a certain satisfaction out of conquering the barbecue and being the big macho man of the party. And let’s face it, what barbecue cook-off contestant would ever be caught dead using a gas grill!

If you are environmentally aware, gas barbecues may be the better option for you. They use natural products – propane or natural gas and are only mildly noxious. Solid fuel based grills on the other hand, produce noxious fumes and lots of smoke.

If you have either gingivitis or periodontitis, there are several effective treatments. These treatments involve deep cleaning to remove plaque and tartar from above and below the gum line. This is called SRP, which stands for “Scaling and Root Planning.” Scaling and Root Planning, or SRP, is a non-invasive procedure. The degree of cleaning, and the amount of time the procedure takes, depends on the degree of disease in the individual patient.

There are also prescription drugs available. The most popular is called Periostat, and has been used effectually since 1998. Periostat – which is a pill – suppresses an enzyme (called collagenase), which contributes to the destruction of the teeth and gums. Often, Periostat is taken in conjunction with an SRP procedure.

Of course, the best treatment against gum disease is to never have it in the first place. That’s why dentists focus on prevention as much as possible. Your dentist can give you a personalized dental health plan to follow. Typically, this includes regular brushing and flossing, as well as the use of special mouthwashes.

Gum disease isn’t pleasant, but it can be prevented and treated. The key is having regular check-ups, so you and your dentist can get a jump on any potential problems before they develop into something more serious.

So if you find “a little pink in the sink,” it’s time to schedule a check-up. Left untreated, gum disease can lead to more severe problems, including tooth-loss. The treatments are simple and effective, however. In fact, the most common reason why gum disease worsens is because the patient simply neglects to visit a dentist. Don’t let embarrassment, laziness or fear prevent you from getting the treatment you deserve.
