really like the thought

I’m feeling a little uneasy for the past two days now. Waiting for the good news is quite tough actually. My patience and faith is indeed being tested in this situation. As time goes by, I’m becoming uncomfortable thinking that they could have changed their mind in accepting my application. That’s why I looked for a diversion and that is through surfing the web and watching movies with hubby.

However, after sometime I realized that I should update my blogs. It’s a much better option for me as compared to going through different sites. Well, while scrolling down the pages, I found the motorhome repair articles I posted before. I really like the thought of owning a recreational vehicle. Of course, it can’t go alone without the mechanical breakdown insurance. It makes a difference in the travel experience because we never know when disaster strikes. So, it’s really important for every RV that’s why I’m taking it into consideration as early as now.

for the safety and convenient

It is common for those who works abroad to send boxes of packages to their family in their home countries. For some it’s an obligation especially to breadwinners. But, most of the time it’s an expression of kindness and compassion and a way to share their blessings. The recipient, then, eagerly waits for the arrival of the package which contains almost anything from canned goods to running shoes. It brings happiness and huge smiles and a really big help to some.

But, opening the box package using kitchen knives or conventional knives can be dangerous. So, for the safety of recipient, it is a necessity to have the right safety knife. The box cutters at MartorUSA.com are good choice for that. Using these safety knives can help avoid minor to severe injuries, which can be inconvenient and expensive. Also, it can help prevent damaged merchandise. So, the sender can ensure that the merchandise inside remains perfect when it is opened by safety knives.

all I can do for my parents

My parents are growing old day by day. It seems like yesterday when they still carry my stuff and usher me to school. Now, I’m living miles away from them that is giving them stress and worries. I’m sure before I know it; they will be in their 60s, then 70s. I want to take care of them, but that would not be possible because I’m still trying to make a living for my own family.

Since I can’t take care of them now, all I can do is to make sure of their welfare while I’m away.  For that I’m thinking of purchasing a life insurance for seniors. It’s true they can’t still be considered senior. But, it is the right insurance for them since they already hit 50s and it is the right time for me to do some searching. I just hope I’ll find an insurance that is specifically designed for them.

wanted to share my finds

A few months ago, one of the boarder’s sister arrived to take the pharmacist board exam. It’s not her first time, but she is still trying to pass it. I’m sure she will with all the determination and hard work she’s putting into it. We aren’t that close, but I want to share my finds on the net regarding the list of pharmacist jobs.

Actually, I was just looking for medical jobs on the web for hubby’s sake. It’s unnecessary since he’s giving all his effort to find one, but I want to help. While doing so, I came across the pharmacy jobs, which reminds me of that girl. Luckily, I know her brother and it’s a great opportunity for her. I’m pretty sure it’s a bad thing to keep such good information in silent. So, I will share it to her; it will be up to her if she finds it useful. At least I share the information that could open great possibilities for her. Well, I just wish her good luck towards the result of the exam.

Warning to Skin Peeling Products

“We are warning consumers about the use of skin peelers because they can cause serious injuries, particularly when not used under the supervision of a physician,” said Commissioner David A. Kessler, M.D.

The FDA issued the warning after it received reports of several injuries caused by chemical skin peeling products. The products in question contain ingredients that are supposed to remove wrinkles, blemishes, blotches and acne scars, usually claiming that they restore youthful-looking skin. But the FDA says they may penetrate the skin too deeply, causing severe skin damage. In several cases, persons have been hospitalized for severe burns, swelling and pain.

Harsh chemical peeling products contain different ingredients and their strengths vary, as may each person’s reactions to the chemicals used. Peeling products usually contain different acids such as resorcinol, phenol, lactic acid, trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid and other alpha hydroxy acids. These are generally applied to the skin for a brief time each day, for 6 to 12 days. The skin initially reddens, like sunburn, then darkens and finally peels away, revealing what manufacturers claim will be “new skin.” But treatments may be painful and leave permanent scars.

Chemical peels used to be performed only by plastic surgeons and dermatologists. However, they are now administered by a variety of non-medical professionals such as cosmetologists and beauticians, some using newly marketed preparations. Some of the products can even be purchased by mail. Many have inadequate instructions; none have been approved by FDA as being safe and effective. [Read more...]

just happen to know it

Just like the first time, Romina is once again sending out baby announcements to her friends. Actually, we aren’t that close, we are just acquaintance so I won’t be expecting one of those invitations to come to my hands. I just happen to know the information since she posted a picture of the invitation itself in facebook. But, I won’t be posting the photo here for some matter I won’t discuss.

Anyway, I don’t want to belittle her creativity, but it sure could use a lot of improvements. But, if she wants both convenience and style, then she could check out Paper Culture’s baby announcements. I’ve seen a number of invitation cards that feature modern design on premium 100% recycled paper. They sure create the perfect way to capture the excitement of having a new family member.

Study Finds Youthful Faces Live Longer

Perhaps, looking younger than one’s age is a curse while growing up, especially as a teen, but it has solid advantages later on in life because it can predict a longer life for the person in question. Researchers have established that a fresh-faced appearance means a longer life, as opposed to those who usually look older than they really are.

Danish researchers looked at 387 pairs of twins to come up with the conclusion mentioned above. Nurses, teachers and colleagues were asked to look at photos of the twins and estimate which one looked younger; then, they determined that the one who did not look their age actually lived a longer life than the twin who seemed older. The explanation for that was found in DNA pieces called telomeres, which were longer in younger looking people. People who looked younger had longer telomeres. All of the twins were in their 70s, 80s or 90s when they were photographed. Over a seven-year follow-up the researchers found that the bigger the difference in perceived age within a pair, the more likely it was that the older-looking twin died first.

Perceived age, which is widely used by clinicians as a general indication of a patient’s health, is a robust biomarker of ageing that predicts survival among those aged over 70. It’s probably a combination of genes plus environment over a lifetime that is important. [Read more...]
