fashionable maternity

Who says you can’t be fashionable when you’re pregnant? I’ve seen lots of pregnant woman who goes out of style. For me, it’s really a terrible thing to see since pregnant women already lose shape so wearing unfashionable clothes makes things worse. When in fact, there are lots of stylish maternity clothes at babiesnbellies.com.

I’m saying this after seeing an expectant mom who seems to forget the word “looking good.” I’m not a very fashionable woman, but her sense of style is totally blown out of proportion. I don’t want to be that especially when I’m pregnant that is what I’ll keep in mind. Fortunately, I don’t have any plans of getting pregnant soon. So, when the right time comes I already know where to go and what to buy.

shopping for business clothes

Yesterday, hubby and I went shopping for business clothes. I started to look for my blouses, but after roaming around the department store I only find one that suits my taste. As for hubby he has no problem finding long sleeve polo. He was able to finish shopping for at least 30 minutes while mine takes about an hour or two, but I only get one.

After, we went to the boutiques inside the mall to find another blouse where I find one in Memo. The cashier is about to check it out using high-tech cordless barcode scanner, which is very commendable for stores like them. I’m sure it makes their work faster, which in turn makes the customers happy for fast transactions. I hope all stores I will visit next time have that kind of apparatus in their check-out counter.

Back to the shopping, I already felt happy because I will have no problem. But, the other sales clerk says there’s no new stock for that size. She asked if it’s okay for me to have the display one. Well, it would be fine, yet we find a run in the cloth of the blouse. Nope, it’s not fine at all because even if it’s the damage is unnoticeable, it is still a damage. It’s not worth the regular price of the blouse. Oh well, I guess I will be back in latter date to find a new blouse.

make me feel good and lighter

I’m putting a lot of effort and discipline to lose some weight. I just started to love the 30 minute exercise right after I wake up at seven in the morning. I also replaced two of my meals every day to a bowl of whole wheat cereal. At nighttime I make sure I am only eating small portion of the meal I prepared or bought. All of this little lifestyle changes make me feel good and lighter.

However, a lot of time I am tempted to cheat especially on my meals. My appetite for certain food is so great that I often fail to resist. Hubby said it might help if I use appetite suppressant for that matter. Well, there is nothing wrong about it. I find lots of this product in the market.

But, I wanted to test myself how far I achieve. That’s why I store lots of fruits and vegetables in the fridge instead of fattening foods like cakes and chocolates. So, whenever craving hits in, I eat those fruits and steam the veggies without having to worry about calories.

Tips for a Healthy, Beautiful Hair

The secret of a successful haircut and the hair style that ‘compliments’ the face lies in understanding the face shapes and choosing haircuts and styles calculated to hide the low points of your face and highlight your best features. Whether your hair is long or short, thick or fine, blonde, red or brown, styling it is essential to its overall “look”. Your hairstyle can make or break your image, and even if you have the world’s greatest hair, improper styling can make you look bland, boring and even washed out.

You can always look stylish by using your fingers to make your hairs look wavy. Use a bit of styling cream on damp hair to create ripples and let the hair dry naturally. Get an instant corporate look by opting for a deep side parting or keep your hair in a slicked back style by using styling cream and combing them back. If you have stubborn hair you may opt for hairspray to tame them. Here are a few styling tips to help you on the path to great, glorious hair:

  • Don’t stick with the same hairstyle for too long. Changing your hairstyle is at the forefront of changing your entire look. A new look can make you look fresh and funky, so chat with your hair stylist about a style that will suit you. Don’t go too dramatic unless you’re after the “wow factor”.
  • Calming Bang Cowlicks - One of the most effective techniques for dealing with cowlicks at the bang area is to try drying the bangs forward with a vent or round brush so that the cowlick will be weighted down. Another technique is to have a hairstyle that incorporates the cowlick into the style thereby creating lift at the cowlick. Use styling tools to support either styling technique. [Read more...]

Toning those Flabby Upper Arms

Likely muscle mass tends to naturally decline with age and is often associated with a decrease in physical activity. Low amounts of muscle mass in the upper body can not only lead to saggy upper arms but can also prevent you from successfully completing simple activities of daily living such as reaching for an object on a high shelf. There are several exercises that will help firm your upper arms while also improving your upper body strength. Here are some exercises that you can perform two or three sets of eight to 12 repetitions of each on three non-consecutive days a week:

  • Biceps Curl – this will firm the biceps brachii muscles that make up the front of your upper arm. Hold a dumbbell in each hand with your palms facing in, and sit or stand with your back straight and your belly button pulled into your spine. Keep your elbows tucked close to your side throughout the exercise. Bend your right elbow to lift the weight to your chest. As you lift the weight, rotate your forearm so that your palm faces your body at the end of the movement. In a controlled manner, lower your arm to the starting position and repeat the movement with your left arm. Continue to alternate arms until you have completed the desired number of repetitions.
  • Triceps Kickback - this firming upper arm exercise targets the triceps muscles on the back of your arm. Stand with your legs hip-width apart and hold a dumbbell in your right hand. Bend your knees slightly and bend forward at the waist, maintaining a straight back. If you find this position difficult, place your left hand on a sturdy chair to support your upper body. Begin with your right arm bent at a 90-degree angle and your elbow tucked close to your side. Keeping your upper arm in place and close to your body, lift the dumbbell to the back by straightening your arm. Carefully return to the starting position. Complete the desired number of repetitions then repeat the exercise with your left arm. [Read more...]

caring my health and wellness

I used to live my life like I don’t care about it. But, when I get into a bad case of sadness a month ago, I realized I am blessed to have it. Now I am more caring about my health and my wellness. The entire situation pushed me to give more time in preparing for the future.

For now I am looking and reading different life insurance quotes from different companies. I gather these quotes before, but I am a little hard-headed that’s why I just keep them unread and unopened. If I did not experience last month’s incident, I would not have the courage to open the mails. Well, I am just thankful that it happened as it makes me realized the importance and beauty of living.

ticket to the healthcare world

In a few weeks, hubby will undertake an exam that will be the basis of our future life. It is his ticket to the healthcare world. If he passes, he will be able to apply to jobs in the healthcare world. Good thing there are lots of jobs for health care. All he needs to do is to pass the exam.

For now he is too busy reviewing. That’s why I am not stressing him out so he can concentrate. He had been through a lot of lately because of me and I regret it. But, I can no longer do something about the past. All I can do now is to give him what he needs and that is peace of mind and support.
