Scrap that belly pooch with Pilates

LifeStyle, healthy tips, information, tips for all No Comments »

Scrap that belly pooch with these three basic Pilates moves. Research has shown that they’re more effective at working your tummy muscles than crunches.

Roll-up - start lying on your back with legs straight and together, arms by your sides. Bring your arms up and over your head, so the fingertips point toward the back wall. Bring your arms slowly forward; as they pass your ears, let your chin drop, engage your abs, and begin to curl your body up, reaching toward your toes. Slowly curl back down. The movement should be controlled and continuous, with your legs on the floor at all times. Do 6-8 reps.

Teaser - lie on your back with knees bent to 90-degree angles and feet lifted. Tighten abs as you inhale, and lift arms up and back over head Exhale and swing arms forward, straightening legs so your body forms a V. If needed, put hands on the floor for support. Roll down slowly, bending knees and bringing arms overhead. Do 15 reps. Trainer tip: To improve your balance, work more muscles, and get faster results, do the workout barefoot. What is Spinal Manipulative Therapy?

LifeStyle, Therapy, healthy tips, information No Comments »

Essentially, spinal manipulative therapies are those that are used on the human skeleton, particularly the spinal area, to relieve muscular or skeletal pain, relieve tension, improve the mobility of joints and, in the case of the oriental therapies, to “unblock energy channels.” The idea behind spinal manipulation is that when the vertebrae are subluxated (misaligned), the resulting pressure on nerves can have negative effects on organ system function and general health, in addition to impeding proper joint motion.

A common practice among the spinal manipulative therapies is that the therapist will generally work on patients while they are lying on a special treatment couch adjusted to the height of the practitioner. The therapies vary from light touching to fairly vigorous manipulation.

The cost of treatment across the various disciplines varies a great deal according to the practitioner’s level of qualification, the area of competence, and other factors.

Divine Food for Divine Beauty

LifeStyle, beauty tips, healthy tips, information, trivia 2 Comments »

The phrase “natural beauty” has been abused and misused beyond restoration. The modern use is almost never associated with its true meaning. Someone said there should be a portrait of a healthy person in a museum so people would know what they are talking about. If we don’t know what a healthy person looks like, how do we know what natural beauty is?

In our unnatural world, the word “natural” no longer means without effort, at least not in the realm of obtaining your best look. One thing is a must in defining natural beauty: its achievement must not involve any sacrifice of health. None, period. If health is compromised in any way beauty is not natural.

Our body was created in the image of God, the Supreme Beauty. When our actions are in opposition to nature, the results are different types of bodily ills, deformities, and ugliness. Since there can be no natural beauty without eating 100 percent natural food, most of you have never seen the natural you.

There is an urgent need for another word. The contemporary meaning of natural is too far from the divine. I suggest filling this void with “rawsome”, a new word circulating in the raw food community. It is a combination of two words:” raw” and “awesome” with the meaning being something between natural and divine. The diet of raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds also needs to be renamed. I have often been told that the phrase “the raw food diet”, sounds like eating raw meat, particularly sushi, which is misleading. The raw food diet is so awesome that it should be called the very name it inspired- the Rawsome Diet.

great way to bond with family

LifeStyle, information, thoughts and ideas No Comments »

Traveling with rv  is such a great way for the whole family to bond and have fun without the need to spend a lot. We all know hotel accommodations these days can costs a lot especially for travelers of more than two. Plus, restaurants as well as transportation can add up to those expenses. With rv, those expenses could greatly drop.

However, there are instances where an affordable rv can turn out to be expensive and a real headache. This is especially true when a mechanical breakdown happens. But, this can be prevented with the right rv insurance.

We have to take into consideration that not all rv insurance are created equal. Some give limited benefits while some costs higher than the rest. Of course, there are few like GoodSam who live up to make customers happy and satisfied to the product they bought. All that is needed is to get proper information about the company and all the benefits they offer before even committing to their product. That is the only way to have a worry free vacation even when mechanical breakdown happens.

planning to buy a sapphire ring

LifeStyle, daily ramblings, tips for all 1 Comment »

Actually, I only have two rings in my hands. One is from my dad, given to me sometime in my sixth grade. The other one is from hubby, given to me sometime in our second year together. That’s why I thought to purchase a ring of my own. But, I want it sapphire since I really love its color.

Basically, Sapphires are the perfect gem for rings. They are extremely durable and almost as tough as a diamond. Rest assured that it can withstand more than most gem stones. I care less if it’s the birthstone for the month of September. I’m born in the month of December, but Sapphire color since it suits me best.

A purple sapphire often costs less than the traditional blue sapphire, but bear in mind the shape of the sapphire will also affect the cost, most often the round sapphires being slightly more costly than the pear cut or marquis. When buying a sapphire ring the costs can vary dramatically depending on the size, shape and setting. It is always wise to set yourself a budget before heading out and purchasing a sapphire ring.

Well, I still need more shopping guide for this matter. Actually, I’m not the best shopper alive even if I love shopping. That’s why I need to place a lot of time before purchasing to get the best one.

a girl who loves clothes

I guess I’m just like any other girl who loves clothes. Well, I accumulated lots of it. However, I have to leave almost 80 percent of it since we are avoiding excess baggage. The idea is pretty clever though. At the airport we exceed three kilos from the maximum baggage allowance. Luckily, the agent did not charge us for that.

Arriving at our destination, I realize that my closet isn’t that big. I already forget about it since we are gone for a year. Plus, I can’t invest in good quality and huge cabinets like closets Richmond. Our stay here is only temporary until hubby can find a job that fits his qualifications.

So, investing in a big closet isn’t a good idea. For one thing this is not our house. Transporting it back to my hometown would be a headache. Good if we could find a moving company that will really take care of the stuff. And, if ever it is transported properly, there would be no place for it in my parents’ small house. It means I’ll have to live with my current closet.

Intense value of college education

LifeStyle, thoughts and ideas No Comments »

Many high school students are asking the importance of college education especially that they can get a job if they want to. That’s why some of them aren’t putting a lot of significance to it. Just like the way my brother is acting towards his college education. But, I will not dig a lot of that for now because it’s too early to complain about it.

Indeed college education can open up many career opportunities, knowledge and experience that are not as widespread in secondary education. With high competition nowadays, it is difficult for undergraduates to get a job equivalent to that of a college graduate.

However, there are crucial questions that must be answered before going to college such as what course to take and what school to attend. For sure, most students already know what they want to take up because they might have undergone research college degrees during high school. The only difficult question left is where to take up the course of their choice.

sad situation

LifeStyle, daily ramblings, thoughts and ideas No Comments »

I feel deeply sad about the situation of the person I know. Actually, we are not related at all. We are not even friends. I just happen to meet him during hubby’s sister birthday party. Well, he is in the ICU now fighting for his life. He suffered stroke again for eight times now. The doctors no longer advice any operation as they don’t perceive him to survive even after operation. The blood clotting in his brain is so severe that they are only waiting for his only son to arrive so they can make the decision whether to stop the mechanical ventilator or not.

Basically, his stroke is caused by hypertension that rooted from obesity and unhealthy lifestyle. I would say there are many causes of hypertension, but the chance of getting it is higher if you are overweight. That’s why I’m more eager to lose excess weight even if it means using weight loss products like alli. But, I will still continue dieting and eating only healthy food as well as doing regular exercise. Living a healthy life increases my chances of not having this disease.
