Indicating landfill capacities, and displaying live rotting meals, museum experts offered loads of information from the simple recycling tip, to the science of composting. They showed us what bacteria’s were good and bad for us, as well as what cleaning products are more eco-friendly than others. They even sold a kit for making your very own cleaning products. Here’s how one could consciously maintain a greener kitchen. From the simple tip, to more structural tips, here is what we found:
- Induction cooktops – Heat is released directly toward the pan or pot only,. Not only does this save a great deal of energy, but the rest of the stovetop isn’t hot.
- Countertops made from recyclables - Supposedly sleek, these suckers would make for the truest green kitchen out there.
- Use recyclable products and recycle them - I am a hypocrite sitting in an office that uses styrofoam cups and plates, but I know that we should use paper so that it can be recycled. Go out of your way to purchase recyclable products, and make it your mission to recycle them! All paper can be recycled…even paper towels! Read the rest of this entry »

Not having at least one tomato plant in your garden is like a day without sunshine. The choices are unbelievable but taste – it can’t be beat. Warm, fresh off the vine, washed in cool water and sliced – whether on a hamburger, a sandwich, or in a salad, a tomato adds that “something special” to any meal. A vine-ripened tomato is not only good-tasting, but to see these red globes on a plant that you started from seed or from a tiny purchased plant, is satisfying all by itself.
What is a perfect tomato? Here too opinions vary but most gardeners do conclude that it should be solid, red, and weight between 12-14 ozs. It is not cracked and it has no blemishes. Hybrids seem to produce the best in this category and are more disease-resistant. The soil tomato plants are placed in should be well aerated, clumpy and loose. The health of your tomato plant is very dependent on root health and growth. The harder it is for the roots to push through the more difficult your plant will find it to grow. They need water, and more water. Use peat moss, compost or manure as the main food for your plants. Read the rest of this entry »

Tired of your furniture giving that old, jaded look? Want a change but can’t afford to buy brand new stuff? Not yet, anyway – maybe you’d rather stash that cash for use elsewhere. Yet you wonder if there was a way to make that furniture look better somehow? Read on…The grandeur of your house is complimented by the furniture you keep. From grand old grandfather clocks to the latest glass top center table you just bought, they all scream out for just a little maintenance. And believe me, give it a try and you will find disproportionately good results.
Give Some Protection: The heat generated by hot utensils tends to spoil the surface of the furniture, resulting in bloated plywood or uprooted sun-mica. Use a simple table pad to keep the dining table covered during use. Barely a few cm thick, a table pad can absorb most of that heat and prevent it from affecting the table surface. They come in a variety of materials, from a heavy-duty, washable leatherette wood grain or leather-tone surface, to a cushiony soft velvet bottom; and fold for easy handling and storage.
Don’t Stretch Your Pocket: If that sounds a little demanding on your budget, go in for a table cloth instead. It may not provide the same level of protection, but is much better than nothing. For formal occasions, delicate embroidered ones are available which will add a touch of class to your décor. And don’t worry about the laundry- a simple transparent plastic sheet will protect your piece-de-resistance while not reducing an iota of its original beauty.

So it is with interior design. Until recently, many people held the belief that having their home decorated by an interior designer was reserved for the rich and famous. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Fact is, many people of average income who live in a middleclass neighborhood are frequently surprised to learn they can easily afford the services of an interior designer. In other cases, many folks prefer to learn tips about design so they have the flexibility to redo a room on a whim. Either way, you have more choices today than ever before.
Before you begin, think about the style you are interested in. Is it art deco, traditional, Mediterranean, western, modern, or contemporary? These are only a few of the multitude of choices you have. Think through how functional the room will be with what you have in mind. Avoid rugs and chairs that stain easily if there will be a lot of traffic in the room.
Be very careful to scale your furniture to the size of the room. If you have a very large space you can break up the area into little sitting groups or area groups. You can easily shift the “feel” of a room with the use of lighting and/or plants. Area rugs are another tool many designers use to break up large spaces. A variety of paint colors and wall textures can make even the most mundane room come to life. Read the rest of this entry »

The last renter of this house leave because of the misunderstanding they have with the owner. The only mistake they commit is that they leave with at least four outstanding checks, but already closed the account. Of course, the owner has the right to collect whatever amount they issued because they are still under a contract. They knew exactly what will happen to them because the girl is a bank employee. Still they did not bother.
On the other side, the owner is already preparing to back fire the couple especially the girl. She already asked the helped of an attorney like attorney richmond to settle the issue. She waited for all the checks to become due before she makes a move and last month is the time.
I no longer know what happens next because both parties keep their mouth shut. I guess they will settle everything by themselves before they will reach the court. I think no one wants to go to any court just because of a little misunderstanding.

I thought that our leak problem will be solved when the repair man give us a visit last week. At last after ages, our landlady makes a move to repair the leak problems. I guess I am not the reason for the move, but the other door apartment. Anyway, we were able to hop on to the opportunity.
However, after two days of fixing and banging there are still leaks from the gutters. If only there are quality gutter services like that of Gutters Norfolk, we could get out of this watery hell. Probably our problem will be fixed the first time they will give us a visit.
Anyway, we are still lucky that I was able to tell her we are not renewing our leased this June. I had enough of the forever, unstoppable leaks. It’s better to go back to my parents’ house because hubby will leave going abroad. That way I don’t have to worry all by myself about roofing problems and something like that.

Even before, I always dream owning a big closet. I love clothes so to say. It is one of the things that make me go crazy. But, I am a very picky shopper that’s why my closet is still a bit empty as compared to women of my age.
Even if that is the case, I still want big closets Richmond where I can place all my stuff including my shoes. I know in the future I will need a bigger closet to give room to my ever increasing number of clothes. I no longer want to toss other useful items just to give room for the new ones. That’s mostly I do now because I want everything in place. I am a bit of a neat freak and I can’t stand a cluttered or overcrowded closet.
In the end I feel it is a waste of money to keep throwing or giving clothes just because I bought new ones. Having a bigger closet is a much better way to deal with it.
