The celebrity guestlist for 2011 Golden Globes Awards also included power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, a fact that was made beyond obvious with repeated cuts to their table throughout the night. With producers making it such a point of showing off the two to boost ratings, an older topic is back on the table and up for discussion, especially with celebrity bloggers: Jolie’s Golden Globes nomination for “The Tourist.”

Ever since the nominations were announced and the critically panned and commercial flop “The Tourist” was included, talk had it that Jolie’s nod came only as a sure way for producers to have her at the ceremony and thus boost ratings. The repeated cuts to her and Pitt would seem to confirm that, this blogger believes. It was as if producers were like constantly reminding viewers that Jolie and Pitt were in the house.

Further confirmation that Jolie was nominated precisely so that she showed up is to be found in the fact that she lost. And so did Johnny Depp. Another conspiracy theory about Pitt and Jolie has to do with their absence from the table sometime in the middle of the awards ceremony, which has prompted speculation that they’d gone to the bathroom for “a quickie”.

“The couple that deprives themselves together…? Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have gone on the super-strict Master Cleanse together, they announced on Twitter. The eating plan – which Beyonce also used to slim down for Dreamgirls – features ‘meals’ that consist of maple syrup, lemon water and cayenne pepper. Moore, 47, swears she’s not doing it to lose weight. ‘This is about health!!!’ she Twittered on Sunday,” Us Magazine writes.

“She added shortly after, ‘2nd day of master cleanse and off to hike with hubby and the dogs. 2nd day better than the 1st!’ Still, she may not make it much longer. ‘Let you know if I make it to day 4,’ she told one of her followers. Kutcher, 32, is having an even harder time. ‘9 hrs into the master cleanse. I want a steak, a beer, and a blow-pop. Hmmm this is gonna be rough,’ he wrote Saturday,” the same publication further writes, citing the stars themselves.

At the same time as Lindsay Lohan is reportedly considering an appeal to the 90-day jail sentence she was slapped with the other day, ongoing reports suggest that this may actually be the best thing that has happened to her career in years. For the first interview after she does the time, she could net a cool $1 million – and given she’s been having trouble lately scoring work, this is no small feat, PopEater reports.

“You can bet Lindsay Lohan will have plenty to say when she’s sprung from the joint later this summer, but if you want her for a TV interview you’d better have deep pockets! Sources tell me that deals are already in the works to secure Lindsay’s first post-jailhouse chat for a whopping $1 million.
