It’s been a while…

daily ramblings, thoughts and ideas 1 Comment »

It’s been a while since the last time I updated this blog. I’ve been very busy packing stuff, moving, then unpacking and organizing in my mother’s house. After, we flew to another place, so I have to clean our room, then unpack, and go on shopping for anything we lack. That alone took us additional three days of being super tired. It was just yesterday when we were able to complete at least 90percent of our shopping lists.

Anyway, one of the things we bought that is much needed is a printer. We thought it would be very convenient to have one in the house rather than having to go to internet café for a printing job. At least we could print anything and any time we want less the price. We can even do postcard printing if we really want to. But, I’ll leave that tasks to “price direct for less.” They are expert on that. Our printing needs is only confined to resume and cover letter.

I still don’t have any idea of our agenda for tomorrow. But, one thing is sure, we can’t rest since there is still 10percent left to do.

changing my template

daily ramblings, thoughts and ideas 2 Comments »

For those who follow my blog, you may have noticed that I changed my template. I felt bored seeing pink every day in this blog. That’s why I specifically change it to a black, for a change. I used to hate the color black. But, with the help of other colors, it blends perfectly. I’m happy with the themes hubby chooses for me. Hehehe

Well, that’s all for now. Have a nice day everyone.

How to make your Furniture last long

home ideas, information, thoughts and ideas, tips for all No Comments »

Tired of your furniture giving that old, jaded look? Want a change but can’t afford to buy brand new stuff? Not yet, anyway – maybe you’d rather stash that cash for use elsewhere. Yet you wonder if there was a way to make that furniture look better somehow? Read on…The grandeur of your house is complimented by the furniture you keep. From grand old grandfather clocks to the latest glass top center table you just bought, they all scream out for just a little maintenance. And believe me, give it a try and you will find disproportionately good results.

Give Some Protection: The heat generated by hot utensils tends to spoil the surface of the furniture, resulting in bloated plywood or uprooted sun-mica. Use a simple table pad to keep the dining table covered during use. Barely a few cm thick, a table pad can absorb most of that heat and prevent it from affecting the table surface. They come in a variety of materials, from a heavy-duty, washable leatherette wood grain or leather-tone surface, to a cushiony soft velvet bottom; and fold for easy handling and storage.

Don’t Stretch Your Pocket: If that sounds a little demanding on your budget, go in for a table cloth instead. It may not provide the same level of protection, but is much better than nothing. For formal occasions, delicate embroidered ones are available which will add a touch of class to your décor. And don’t worry about the laundry- a simple transparent plastic sheet will protect your piece-de-resistance while not reducing an iota of its original beauty.

sharing my farmville photo

daily ramblings 4 Comments »

It’s Sunday and I pledge that I will just relax the whole day. That’s why I don’t want to push myself to think of any topic to write here. So, I will just share the photo of my Farmville game. I already said before that I will stop playing and concentrate on doing tasks. But, I failed on that one. I’m still playing facebook games regularly. It’s my way to release my boredom and kill my time.

So, here is the photo of my Farmville. I’m still working to make it really good. But, I guess this is the best I can do for now. Probably when I level up I will be able to design it excellently.

Have a nice Sunday everyone!!!

Intense value of college education

LifeStyle, thoughts and ideas No Comments »

Many high school students are asking the importance of college education especially that they can get a job if they want to. That’s why some of them aren’t putting a lot of significance to it. Just like the way my brother is acting towards his college education. But, I will not dig a lot of that for now because it’s too early to complain about it.

Indeed college education can open up many career opportunities, knowledge and experience that are not as widespread in secondary education. With high competition nowadays, it is difficult for undergraduates to get a job equivalent to that of a college graduate.

However, there are crucial questions that must be answered before going to college such as what course to take and what school to attend. For sure, most students already know what they want to take up because they might have undergone research college degrees during high school. The only difficult question left is where to take up the course of their choice.

Tips How to Choose Fine Pearls

information, thoughts and ideas, tips for all, trivia 1 Comment »

Choosing pearls that are of the best quality are determined by luster, nacre thickness and quality (the outer layer), color, surface perfection, shape, and size. The biggest factor of pearl quality is nacre thickness and quality which determines how long the pearl will last. Nacre thickness determines the longevity of the pearl and nacre quality determines how light reflects through the layers of the pearls. High luster and iridescence come from high quality nacre and any pearl with these characteristics has quality, thick nacre. When judging nacre look for uniform iridescence, intensity of luster, cracks and peeling, estimate thickness near the drill hole between the nacre and the shell bead (nacre is lighter).

Luster is also important and one of the first factors to notice. Luster is an intense brightness that illuminates from within the pearl rather than just being “shiny” like in imitation pearls. The intense brightness results from light being reflected throughout the numerous layers of nacre. Quality pearls will have a sharp contrast between the brightest area where direct light is hitting the pearls and the shaded area creating an illusion of a “ball within the pearl.” Check for luster by examining them under a fluorescent lamp and rolling them from side to side to examine uniform luster. Examine pearls over a light gray or white material and never black because it is harder to see the true quality of the pearl.

Pearl color is also important. When choosing pearls note there body color and overtones. The most desirable and more rare white pearls have “rose” colored overtones. Cream colored pearls are more affordable because they are less rare. Also, pearls can have tones rated in intensity. Darker toned pearls are more desirable and expensive compared to lighter toned pearls. Many natural body colors are available in pearls including white, black, gray, blue, gold, pink, and green. Distinctive colored pearls are rarer and harder to find. Have a qualified gemologist check the pearls to make sure they have not been dyed, especially for costlier pearls like the black or golden varieties.

sad situation

LifeStyle, daily ramblings, thoughts and ideas No Comments »

I feel deeply sad about the situation of the person I know. Actually, we are not related at all. We are not even friends. I just happen to meet him during hubby’s sister birthday party. Well, he is in the ICU now fighting for his life. He suffered stroke again for eight times now. The doctors no longer advice any operation as they don’t perceive him to survive even after operation. The blood clotting in his brain is so severe that they are only waiting for his only son to arrive so they can make the decision whether to stop the mechanical ventilator or not.

Basically, his stroke is caused by hypertension that rooted from obesity and unhealthy lifestyle. I would say there are many causes of hypertension, but the chance of getting it is higher if you are overweight. That’s why I’m more eager to lose excess weight even if it means using weight loss products like alli. But, I will still continue dieting and eating only healthy food as well as doing regular exercise. Living a healthy life increases my chances of not having this disease.

ability to diversify investments

Like a lot of people, I am also fascinated by the beauty of gold especially if it’s turned to jewelry. But, it is not only fashion that I want it. I know gold as compared to other precious metals has the ability to appreciate its value.

Gold bullion is considered a unique kind of investment. As an investment product, gold is available in coin or ingot form. Ingots are generally gold ingots of pure bullion cast in a convenient size and shape. Coins have a currency value or they are actually defined as ingots. With United States Gold Bureau any person can now buy gold eagle coins, bullions and other precious metals for immediate personal delivery or arrange for convenient and safe storage at an independent bank.

That’s the very reason I want to collect as much gold as I can and place it is a safe storage for future use. I’ve learned from different sources that it has the proven ability to diversify investments, protect wealth and preserve one’s purchasing power.
