frustrations over slow internet connection

I’m about to give up with my current internet provider, just that I can’t. The last time I tried this idea, I lost valuable time for about two months because I have no internet. Other providers, if they are not too expensive, they have a very poor customer support. Although I am receiving not so fast internet speed, I am still thankful I am connected 24 hours day.

I mentioned a few months ago about my accidental discover about Qwest high speed Internet. It happened during the time I gave up on my internet provider. I feel super disappointed with my ISP that I instantly terminate the contract. I never thought I would still go back to them.

I was scouting for other possible internet provider that I might have known. Instead, I came across Qwest, which has attractive package. But, destiny is as if playing at me at that time. Why? The reason is simple. Qwest Company offer high-speed internet for a fair price. Also, the internet subscription can be tied up to Qwest phone service or direct tv, and long distance depending on your choice. All four is consolidated in one statement. That would mean, their clients can now enjoy the convenience of paying one time for all four. Isn’t that attractive? However, the problem lies in geographical matters. Qwest services are only available in USA, continents away from me. It won’t be possible to enjoy their service.

loving sophisticated technology

I am thankful that I grow up in the era of sophisticated technology where digital cameras are available. In digital cameras or camcorders I can capture pictures and movies without the use of films. It’s easier to convert them into DVD formats so I can share it with my family and friends.

Before, there are only 8mm films used by people to record their special moments. There seem to be no choice as of that time. But, that is the beginning of our modern recorders. The only problem is that, the records are no longer compatible with today’s players.

Most available players of today are DVD or CD’s. 8mm players are becoming outdated and no longer sold in the market, making it hard for owners to view their recordings. The good thing is that it is still possible to restore and view shots from 8mm by means of film transfer.

natural product for a natural beauty

Is there really no such thing as natural beauty? Well, not everyone can roll out of bed ready for the world, but your daily makeup routine can expose you to more toxins than a nuclear dumpsite (okay, occasionally it is exaggerated). But don’t give up on your makeup: instead, opt for natural products derived from plants and minerals. The average woman spends $650 a year on cosmetics, which isn’t always money well spent. Resources like the campaign for safe cosmetics work to protect consumers of personal care products. There are literally hundreds of natural products out there to try. Here are a few of it:

  • Peacekeeper Lip Paint- nine shades of lipstick and glosses. “No nasty anything” and all after-tax profits go to women’s health and human advocacy issues.
  • Dr. Hauschka Kajal Eyeliners – quince-based wax eyeliners that smudge perfectly.
  • Annemarie Borlind Powder Eye Shadow – great earth tones in a pretty compact.
  • Larenim – “mineral” spelled backward: Larenim offers loose mineral-based powders that can be used for everything from foundation to eye liner.

good gift idea

Giving away famous cigars like Davidoff cigars these holidays is also a good gift idea especially for the people who smoke. But, I can’t take part of it. I know no one in my family both my parents side who smoke. Okay I know one. My grandpa, the father of my dad, loves to smoke. But, he already died five or six years or so.

As for relative on the side of my mother I know no one in their family who smoke. They adhere to strict religious beliefs and smoking is ban in their family. I don’t know much about hubby’s side. Ow I remember his younger brother smokes. I think I can use cigars as Christmas present. If so, it will be the first year I will give cigars as a gift.

not so good learning

I’m just an ordinary woman who doesn’t know much about things in construction or engineering stuff. Why am I saying this? Well, it was one Saturday afternoon when hubby brought me to a hardware store to buy some tools. He picked up a hammer, screw drivers, and so much more. Since I am not interested in the stuff he is checking, I just look around as if I am window shopping for clothes. I found this small device, which is really new to me. I did not bother asking hubby about it because I don’t want him to laugh at me again. He had done that several times at me and I hate it.

I just search for its name on the web after we got home. It’s called spring plungers. Technically speaking, I can’t seem to follow its purpose and meaning. So, I am contented to know its name. Not so good learning by the way.

Lunch tips you can bring to work

Lunch tips you can bring to workYou should bring food that can be enjoyed cold. Or if available, warm up your food over a stove or in a toaster oven. Use the microwave as a last option; though convenient, it has been found that microwave cooking destroys some important nutrients in your food. If you choose to use the microwave, try to avoid plastic containers or plastic wrap because studies have shown that when these are microwaved, they can leach dioxins, phthalates, or nonylphenol. Instead, microwave your food in glassware, corning ware, ceramic or lead-free terra cotta bowls. So, here are some lunch meals to bring:

  • Greens with steamed beets sprinkled with pine nuts, walnuts, and shredded chicken
  • Avocado and turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread.
  • Whole grain pasta with organic meat sauce.
  • Brown rice or quinoa with sautéed veggies.
  • Veggie stir-fries or boiled dumplings.
