I mentioned in somewhere across my blog that it was just an accident learning about insulated concrete forms. For those who are like me, I hope this post will be very helpful. Basically, it is a stay-in-place concrete forming method that serves as a functional part of the wall after the concrete is poured. It gives additional strength to the walls especially in creating high performance structure. The walls are 10 times stronger as compared to wood framed structures. It has better resistance to forces of nature, compared with framed walls as well as it is more insect resistant. Another thing is that, ICF structures are much more comfortable, quiet, and energy-efficient than those built with traditional construction methods.
These are just some of the many benefits ICF offers to its users. I hope it gives a bird’s eye view to the result of the building when using ICF structures.
