Being a company rat is not easy, it’s exhausting and tiring. The very reason most employees would look for leeway to relax and enjoy one’s self. Before I met my partner, I used to play tennis with my office mates as one of our recreational activity and exercise. I even invest in a quality racquet, the Volkl DNX, my first and one and only racquet. I really have fun during those times and my weight is controlled as well.
However, things change after I met my partner today. My priorities instantly change. Everything I do now and every decision I make now is in line with my partner. I think this is the mantra of being a committed and loving wife. It’s been four years that I stopped playing tennis. I miss the playing with my friends or colleagues sometimes especially when I see friends chatting afterward. But I have other priorities to take care.
My one and only racquet was sold last year to my close friend who started playing tennis with her friends. Even though my heart breaks seeing my racquet out of my closet, at least it is put to good use instead of being stack the whole time. Probably I will play again in the future if time permits.
