way to save money!

Here is a simple way to save money right in your own home. Label old jars with things you regularly spend for or even dream of having. Start labelling jars with insurance, grocery and vacation. When you empty your pockets at the end of the day, alternately drop your spare change and small bills in these jars. When it is time to pay bills, you will only need to shell out a fraction of the total, instead of the full amount. Plus, you get to track how close you really are in finally getting that dream Vegas vacations perhaps.

Growing up…

Growing up in a not so fortunate family is not so favorable for me. Although I am not deprive of my basic needs but, I am yearning to enjoy high technological stuff like computers, cell phones or even telephone. The time I finished my studies and landed in a good job after a couple of months, I am reclaiming everything that I do not have before. After 3 years of working, I never have savings. I spend all my income to stuffs like computer, xbox 360, cell phone, clothes and many more. That time gives me a sense of accomplishment. And, I never have regrets that I do what I have done that time even though many says I should save for my future. They have a point but, I have to enjoy what I want because I will only be young once.

Arranging kitchen drawer

First, line it with oilcloth. Remove items that could cut fingers and hang them out of harm’s way. Utensils like basters (used only occasionally) should be stored elsewhere; the idea is to reserve this drawer for the things you need almost every day. Next, buy a variety of organizers in different shapes and arrange them in the drawer (dabs of sticky tack will secure them in place). Use small ones for essential everyday tools; rectangular ones for rectangular utensils. The last (and hardest) step: trying to keep everything this way.

Inspiring Story!

I find this story very inspiring and I just can’t help myself from sharing it to all. Hope you like it just like I do.

The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn’t already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder.

I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being. She said, ‘Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I’m eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?’ I laughed and enthusiastically responded; ‘Of course you may!’ and she gave me a giant squeeze. ‘Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?’ I asked. She jokingly replied, ‘I’m here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids…’No seriously,’ I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age. ‘I always dreamed of having a college education and now I’m getting one!’ she told me.

After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this ‘time machine’ as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.
Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went.. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up. At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I’ll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor.

Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, ‘I’m sorry I’m so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I’ll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know. ‘As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, ‘We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You’ve got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die.

We have so many people walking around who are dead and don’t even know it! There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don’t do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn’t take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets. The elderly usually don’t have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets. ‘She concluded her speech by courageously singing ‘The Rose.’

She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives. At the year’ s end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago. One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep. Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it’ s never too late to be all you can possibly be.

REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL. We make a Living by what we get; we make a Life by what we give. God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

spread some aroma!

We all love to stay in a room with a combination of clean air and aromatic fragrance. It can create a refreshing feeling afterwards. Well, here’s a stylish way to spread aroma throughout a room without forking over so much cash. Fill a small, clear glass vase or bottle with aromatherapy oil that’s powerfully fragrant. Then, snip off the ends of barbecue sticks and insert, flip them over whenever you want to refresh the intensity. Combine it with Blueair that delivers high amounts of clean, quiet air. And, breathe in the scent of the money well spent.

buzz about baby bottles!

Plastic baby bottles are thought by a lot of moms to be heaven-sent, and have become favorite gifts during baby showers most are being banned and taken off shelves.

New studies are showing that a chemical ingredient in polycarbonate infant bottles is a toxic. Bisphenol-a or BPA, found in popular plastic baby bottles, is said to mimic the human hormone estrogen and had caused long-term changes in test animals exposed to it. Children up to the age of 18 months were the most at risk from BP. The side effects? Behavioral and neural symptoms later in life, including early puberty in girls; reproductive issues and maybe certain cancers. Adults have less to worry about, as exposure levels need to be extremely high before it proves to be unsafe.

The bad buzz was enough for a senator in the US to introduce a bill banning the use of BPA-containing plastics in other children’s products: toys and food containers, among other things. The ban extends only to polycarbonate plastics so you don’t necessarily have to give up using all plastic baby bottles, although experts recommend switching back to good old glass ones. If you must use plastic, look under the bottle and check for the numbers 2 or 5, as these stand for the far less reactive polypropylene and polyethylene. Steer clear of the number 7 – this is BPA-laden polycarbonate. And no matter what plastic you use, skip the microwave because high temperature breaks down the container’s ingredients which may leak into your food.

cellphone dead spot!

I hate the fact that some part of our house is a dead spot for my cellphone. Signals can’t get through the walls and I can’t use my phone. Some important calls or messages are being blocked and that is too irritating. If we only have cell phone amplifiers here at home, I might not experience this one. I might not have to stumble just to get the signal I need. And, just enjoy every corner of our house.
