Clashes in Nairobi, KenyaCurrently Kenya is facing its biggest problem in years. There is an ongoing violence across the country that is claiming hundreds of lives. The rampage started after the disputed election, when incumbent Mwai Kibaki was declared the President. The supporters of Raila Odinga (opponent) went on violence in many parts of Kenya. The death toll now is around 800 and still rising, 250,000 have fled mostly to neighboring Uganda. The largest single loss of life was when a church providing shelter from the violence to 200 people was set alight by rioters, burning 35 people to death.
Kenya was known to be the most stable country in East Africa but now the country is stricken by the problem of civil unrest. International community must intervene to this problem before it’s too late.
